Gov. Northam calls Virginia ‘a leader’ in fight against coronavirus pandemic

 Gov. Ralph Northam stressed the importance of adhering to social distancing guidelines Monday during a press briefing on Virginia’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The governor suggested that Virginians follow CDC guidelines to Virginia News wear face covers, not masks meant for health care workers, to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

Over the weekend, 625 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Virginia. State health officials said Monday that nearly 500 people have been hospitalized. The virus has killed 54 Virginians.
